Our adrenaline-filled trip to Europapark was rounded off with a visit to O’Mackay’s Café & Pub. A trip to Ireland (albeit a small one) just wouldn’t be complete without a quick stop at an Irish pub, would it?
A walk in Europa Park Rust took us through Spain via Iceland to Great Britain and finally to Ireland. They certainly have an interesting understanding of European geography there!
The O’Mackay’s Irish Pub is immediately recognizable from the outside. Both the entrance area and the interior are modeled on an Irish pub.
There are already a few tables outside. However, if you want to eat or drink something here, you have to go inside first.

However, once you enter the Irish pub, the genuine and authentic flair that we love is partially lost.
Self-service is the order of the day here. Both drinks and food are ordered directly at the counter, which is very reminiscent of a cafeteria or franchise catering.
Comfortable leather armchairs and plenty of seating await you in the seating area. The walls are designed with great attention to detail and decorated with tin signs and pictures. There are lots of clover-shaped balloons on the ceiling. This almost creates a festive atmosphere.
After all, the toilets were relatively easy to find. The wall was adorned with relatively large letters indicating the location. The toilets were very clean and had a really nice design.
The name “O’Mackay’s” of the pub is, by the way, like many things in the theme park, a reference to the family name “Mack” of the operators of the park.

Friendliness
Unfortunately, little can be said about the friendliness of the staff. You only have very brief contact when ordering at the counter.
Drinks
After a long, exciting day at Europa Park, we were already looking forward to a freshly tapped Guinness. Unfortunately, O’Mackay’s Café & Pub only serves Guinness from the bottle. At least we got an original Guinness glass to go with it. That made the experience a little better.
If you’re hoping for an extensive beer or whisky menu here, you’re in the wrong place. There are only German beers on tap, such as Erdinger wheat beer or Kronen Export. There is also wine, coffee and soft drinks. Not exactly the selection we expect in an Irish pub.

Food / Snacks
The menu looks much better than the drinks menu. In addition to burgers and salads, there are also Irish classics such as Shepherd’s Pie, Irish stew and bangers & mash.
As we weren’t hungry yet, we were unfortunately unable to test the quality of the food.
Conclusion
O’Mackay’s Café & Pub is probably the most expensive Irish pub in Germany. After all, you first have to buy a day ticket to Europa Park to pay a visit.
Once there, you will be greeted by a rustic interior – but the special flair of an Irish pub may not come across here. The highlight of The O’Mackays Irish Pub in Europa Park is definitely the location. After all, you can spend a whole day riding rollercoasters and having fun.
O’Mackay’s is a good place for a short visit between attractions if you fancy a Guinness from the bottle.
