You will find the Blarney Irish Pub in Berlin Kreuzberg in the immediate vicinity of Bergmannstraße and Mehringdamm. This Irish pub is somewhat hidden in a side street, directly behind the Doldenmädel Brewery Inn.
At first glance, the Blarney Irish Pub seems a little inconspicuous and, to be honest, we were very surprised. At first glance, it looked like a pure sports bar where football matches are shown and fans of the clubs roar along loudly.
As soon as the game was over, the football fans left Blarney’s and it was transformed into a special kind of Irish pub with authentic live music and an almost family atmosphere.

Ambience
When we entered the Blarney Irish Pub shortly before 8pm on a Saturday, there was hardly anywhere to stand. The Irish pub was packed from the front to the back with football fans watching a Premier League game.
As soon as the game was over, the football fans left the pub and we were able to get a seat.
During selected football matches, fans definitely get their money’s worth here. The atmosphere was rousing … at least if you cheer for the right club. However, you should arrive in good time for the games. Blarney’s is not particularly large and the seats are in high demand.
After the football match, it became a little quieter in the Blarney Irish Pub and the crowd tended to get a little older. Some musicians sat down at the large tables at the front and soon started playing Irish folk songs. The atmosphere was reminiscent of pubs in Ireland, which tend to be found in rural areas. Everyone could play and sing along, so there was no limit to the convivial atmosphere.

The walls of Blarney’s are decorated with various musical instruments and Irish memorabilia. The ceilings are adorned with various T-shirts from bands such as the Sex Pistols or The Pogues, alternating with jerseys from selected clubs. The Blarney Irish Pub is probably not the most beautiful Irish pub in Berlin, but it has a totally authentic and cozy atmosphere.
There is also a separate smoking area at the back of Blarney’s.
The toilets in the pub are not necessarily spectacular, but they are very clean … even later in the evening.
Blarney’s certainly seems to be dog-friendly. Several of the musicians had their dogs with them and the four-legged friends were absolutely welcome in the pub … and not just for musical accompaniment.
Friendliness
When we entered the pub during the football match, we were kindly informed that there were no seats available at the moment. But the game would only go on for another 10 minutes and then there would certainly be seats available again. And that’s exactly what happened. It was really great that it was communicated straight away.
The service was also friendly for the rest of the evening.
What you should know before you visit the Blarney Irish Pub is that you can only pay with cash here. Cash Only is written in large letters on the outside of the door.
Drinks
The drinks menu in the Blarney Irish Pub is relatively straightforward. There is Guinness and Kilkenny on tap. You can get a pint of either beer here for €5.90. There is also a selection of other (only German) beers in bottles.
There is a small selection of Irish and Scottish whiskies, as well as bourbon.
Under Irish Specials you will find Baileys and Dooleys Cream. However, there are no other special shots or mixed beer drinks on the menu.
So the first thing we ordered was a Guinness and we stuck to the classic Guinness and Baileys throughout the evening. The Baileys shots were a little too precise and small for our experience, but that’s probably a matter of taste.

Meals / Snacks
Those who work up an appetite after a few pints of Guinness will unfortunately be disappointed in the Blarney Irish Pub. There is no menu here and even small snacks are not available.
Our tip: Before visiting Blarney’s, stop by the Doldenmädel Brewery Inn and be inspired by the lavish and delicious menu. The perfect preparation for an evening in an Irish pub.
