The Celtic Cottage is another Irish pub in Berlin’s Steglitz district. We visited the Celtic Cottage on a wonderful summer’s day and took a seat outside on the terrace as soon as we arrived. As we were already there at around 5 pm, we got a table for 2 outside without a reservation. Later on, the outdoor seating was very popular. The outdoor area was also an absolute highlight for us. We therefore recommend making a reservation, especially on nice days. Please note, however, that you can only sit outside until 10 pm.
As soon as we sat down, we were greeted warmly and had our cards in our hands. As the Celtic Cottage serves delicious drinks as well as hearty meals, we brought a big appetite with us and delved straight into the menu.

As you enter the Celtic Cottage, you will find a typical Irish bar directly to the right of the entrance. There are lots of tables throughout the room and winding corridors lead further into the interior of the pub. There really is a lot of space here.
There is also a dartboard at the back. We also took the opportunity later in the evening to play a little match and had a lot of fun.
The toilets in the Celtic Cottage are beautifully decorated in Irish pub style with green tiles. There is even an extra toilet for women. The toilets were very clean throughout the evening.
Friendliness
As it was very hot, Nico took the first obligatory Guinness and Christiane ordered a cider. The service was very attentive and friendly.
When we arrived on a Thursday at around 5pm, a few tables in the outdoor area were already full, mainly with visitors who had come for the food.
Irish folk music was announced from 7pm and provided the musical accompaniment that evening. As a result, the inside area of the pub also filled up with enthusiastic listeners, while we continued to enjoy the summer day outside.
There is a pub quiz at the Celtic Cottage every Monday at 7:30 pm. The dates are often fully booked weeks in advance. So if you want to take part, you should find out in good time and register quickly.

Drinks
The Irish pub Celtic Cottage also has Guinness on tap. They also have the Newcastle Brown Ale that we love. Murphy’s Irish Stout and Murphy’s Irish Red round off the range of Irish beers. Hop House is also available here, but only in bottles. Mixed beer drinks are also available, e.g. Guinness Black & Tan (Newcastle Brown Ale & Guinness Irish Stout). We have never seen this combination anywhere else. The cider selection includes various ciders from Strongbow and Bulmers.
There is also a whisky menu. However, we were in the mood for a few special shots that day. Nico ordered the Irish Flag Shot to compare it with other pubs. The Irish Flag Shot at the Celtic Cottage was definitely something special, as it consists of Bols Peppermint Green, Baileys & Old Pascas. But it was still very tasty. According to Nico, however, it wasn’t quite as tasty as the Irish Flag Shot in the Kilkenny Irish Pub. Christiane ordered a Baby Guinness (Tia Maria with Baileys). As always, Christiane found this shot very tasty. We can definitely recommend both shots!
If you can’t make up your mind, there’s always the whisky of the week.
Food / Snacks
The Celtic Cottage menu includes daily changing dishes as well as soups, burgers and salads. There really is something for everyone here.
Nico ordered the typical Irish pub food, Irish Sausages, and found it extremely tasty. The baked beans in particular tasted very good. That gets a 4/5 straight away.
Christiane ordered the dish of the day, the Spicy Sloppy Beef Burger. Even though it was “just” a burger, the combination with the sloppy beef was very tasty. Christiane even gives this burger a 5/5. It was served with two potato wedges with sour cream.
