The Cliffs of Dooneen is an Irish pub in the middle of lively Prenzlauer Berg. When the weather is nice, small tables and long beer benches in the outdoor area in front of the door beckon, where dogs are also very welcome. The relaxed outdoor atmosphere promises convivial hours in the sun.
Once inside, you immediately feel at home in the small location. The interior is reminiscent of an Irish pub. The indoor area is very manageable and consists of the room with the bar right at the entrance and 2 other rooms. Both in the entrance area and in the other rooms there are televisions showing various sporting events. Anyone expecting a pure football pub here will be surprised, as priority is given to sports that are traditionally more Irish. Rugby before soccer is the motto here. During our visit, both were broadcast simultaneously: a rugby match was shown in the front area and football was shown on the TV in the next room. This made for an energetic but still peaceful atmosphere.

For sporting activities away from the screen, there is a table football table and a dartboard in the back room.
The toilets are located between the two rear rooms. There are separate toilets for men and women. The toilets were very clean until late in the evening.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside, which makes for a pleasant and smoke-free atmosphere.
Drinks
The selection of drinks is manageable (at least according to the menu). There is the must-have of an Irish pub – Guinness. Which we traditionally order first. They also have a very tasty house beer, which you should definitely try when you visit.
The cider range includes brands such as Magners and Bulmers, with Magners Apple Cider even available on tap. All other ciders are served by the bottle.
There is no designated whisky menu. However, there is a selection of whiskies behind the bar.
And if you can’t find a seat or just need a pilsner, you’ll find the right solution with a beer-to-go.

Food / Snacks
The Irish stew is probably the most Irish dish on the menu. In addition, there are more typical Berlin dishes such as boulettes with potato salad or bockwurst. As we weren’t too hungry during our visit, we ordered the boulette with potato salad. The food was okay for a typical pub, but doesn’t really wow you.
A glass of peanuts is also served for a small snack in between.
