Molly Malones | Friedrichshain

At first glance, Molly Malones is very clearly laid out. You enter and find yourself directly at the bar. Further into the room there are a few seats. When we visited, Molly Malones was very full, as it was pub quiz night and many visitors had already reserved seats in advance. The walls are adorned with Irish flags and decorative elements. Celebrities have also been to Molly Malones and are immortalized on the walls.

The outdoor area in front of Molly Malones consists of a few tables and is open on warm days.

There is a dartboard for sporting activities. Next to it is a small book corner, which is very inviting and cute.

There are separate toilets for men and women. The toilets were very clean until late in the evening. It smelled very good in the women’s toilet and even tampons were available. The men’s toilet was particularly memorable due to the unique design of the toilet lid.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside.

Molly Malones can be hired for parties of up to 50 people.

The service / bartender is immediately open and friendly. The owner greets you in English and makes sure you are comfortable.
Orders can be placed directly at the bar or at the table. You can pay both cash and by card.

The Irish pub must-have Guinness is available on tap. There is also the not so Irish, but very rare (in Berlin) Newcastle Brown Ale. Murphys is also on tap here.
The cider selection is limited to Magners Apple / Pear.
There is a separate whisky menu with many Irish and Scottish whiskeys.

The food at Molly Malones was very disappointing. While the boulette with potato salad was supposed to satisfy the hunger for some Guinness, it rather spoiled the appetite with its bland taste and too much mayonnaise. The nachos topped with cheese also came out of a bag and were probably just microwaved, which made everything stick together into one lump and was very disappointing even for basic bar food.
