The Offside in Wedding is an Irish pub for real whisky lovers near Gesundbrunnen. Over 1,300 open whiskeys await you here at the extremely well-stocked bar. However, you should definitely have eaten something beforehand, as Offside unfortunately does not serve food or snacks. So first make sure you have a good base and then make your way to Offside in Wedding.
We visit Offside on a Saturday evening and are surprised that it is still relatively quiet when we arrive shortly after 8pm. At Offside, you can also sit outside in front of the pub until 10 pm, weather permitting.
When you enter the Irish pub, you immediately notice the large wooden bar behind, above and on top of which there are several bottles of whiskey. There is plenty of seating, both directly at the bar and at several smaller and larger tables, which also offer enough space for larger groups. The cozy decor is very fitting for an Irish pub: from the traditional wooden bar, to tables made from old barrels, to the wall decorations.

The Offside also has a separate whiskey tasting room. Whisky lovers have the opportunity to book a tasting here and be enchanted by the Offside’s range and knowledge.
The toilets at Offside are located at the very back of the pub and were very clean during our visit.
It’s also worth taking a look at the ceiling in Offside. There are some interesting objects there that make for a very special kind of decoration. If you go further into the offside, you can even discover a whole village on the ceiling. It’s worth a look!
Friendliness
Upon entering the Offside, we were greeted by the friendly bartender, who also took our first order: the obligatory Guinness, of course.
When we arrived on Saturday evening shortly after 8pm, there wasn’t much going on. The crowd tended to be older and the atmosphere was very relaxed. From 10 p.m. onwards, however, the Offside was very well attended.

Drinks
In addition to the classic Guinness, there were many other Irish and Scottish beers in bottles. The beer list is very large, but it can happen that not all beers are in stock. There were also many different types of cider in bottles, which go beyond the regular range of Bulmers, Magners and Strongbow and are definitely worth tasting. When ordering the bottled beers, the beer is served in a glass and the bottle is placed next to it. This allows you to look at the label and find out more about the beer you have ordered.
The highlight of Offside is the 1,300 open whiskeys spread throughout the bar. Our tip: ask the bartender to recommend a whiskey for you.
Food / Snacks
If you want to eat something offside, you will look in vain here. Even small bar snacks were not available. We therefore recommend that you eat enough beforehand and then visit the Offside.
