Ambience
Strassmann’s is one of the typical old stalwarts of the Berlin bar scene. Strassmannstraße is a rather quiet cross street of Danziger Straße between Landsberger Allee and Frankfurter Tor. This also has an effect on the bar’s clientele. On a chilly Wednesday in November, you will mainly find soccer fans from the surrounding area here. The ambience is rustic and quaint, yet modern thanks to the new TVs.
In the upper part of the bar there is a large area with pool tables and a dartboard.
There are separate toilets for men and women. The toilets were very clean until late in the evening.
Smoking is not permitted in the entire indoor area.

There are large tables where even large groups can be seated at any time. Strassmann’s would even be a good choice for a date. Candlelight has created a very cozy atmosphere and the bookshelf in our seating area made Strassmann’s almost feel like a living room. So if you visit the restaurant on your own, you can find the right book to pass the time or look up a word or two in the dictionary in a larger group.
During our visit in the cold Berlin winter, no outdoor area was open. However, there was a small table in front of the restaurant.
Friendliness
Orders can be placed directly at the bar or at the table. You can pay by cash or card.

Drinks
There is a separate whisky menu, cocktails and shots, such as Baileys or Mexican. We decided to end the evening with a Baileys and were pleasantly surprised by the double shot glasses that were served there. Definitely a plus from us.
