Strassmann‘s | Friedrichshain

Strassmann’s is one of the typical old stalwarts of the Berlin bar scene. Strassmannstraße is a rather quiet cross street of Danziger Straße between Landsberger Allee and Frankfurter Tor. This also has an effect on the bar’s clientele. On a chilly Wednesday in November, you will mainly find soccer fans from the surrounding area here. The ambience is rustic and quaint, yet modern thanks to the new TVs.

In the upper part of the bar there is a large area with pool tables and a dartboard.

There are separate toilets for men and women. The toilets were very clean until late in the evening.
Smoking is not permitted in the entire indoor area.

The welcome when we entered the pub was initially rather meagre. As soon as we were seated, the menu was brought to us and we had our first Guinness in our hands after just a few minutes. Slainte. During the course of the evening, we had special questions about other offers outside the menu, but these could not be satisfied. However, the service remained friendly at all times in a typical Berlin way and didn’t let any unrest arise even late in the evening when we were the last guests.
Orders can be placed directly at the bar or at the table. You can pay by cash or card.

The Irish pub must-have Guinness is available on tap. Kilkenny is also available on tap. Unfortunately, there are no other Irish beers or ciders. According to information, the cider offer was removed from the menu 8 years ago. What a pity.
There is a separate whisky menu, cocktails and shots, such as Baileys or Mexican. We decided to end the evening with a Baileys and were pleasantly surprised by the double shot glasses that were served there. Definitely a plus from us.

On our evening at Strassmann’s, we didn’t try any dishes. However, they do offer the classics, such as bockwurst or knacker with bread. There was also a separate pizza menu. You could choose from various frozen pizzas, which are heated and served on the spot.
